It reminds me of a TV AD where a mechanic is breaks the bad news to a car owner, and the announcer says it the owner had taken proper actions earlier the car owner would not be in this position.

Same with software, proper actions taken in the design, development and testing phases would prevent these production problems, and cost less in the long run.
